Gongura pickle
it is a pickle. i love this pickle and this is one of the famous pickle in Godavari Foods. and gongura pickle is made using red sorrel leaves and this is a popular pickle in andhra. gongura is tangy flavored leaf and many recipes are tried with it down godavari like gongura gongura chutny picspappu,gongura chutney,gongura mutton,gongura chicken. more over then it can be served with rice and roti.Ingredients:
- Onions ( cut to quaters )
- Tamarind
- Salt to taste
Tempering:
- Red chillis
- Oil as needed
- Curry leaves
- Urad dall
- Besan dall
- Turmaric
- Garlic cloves
- cumin seeds
- mustard seeds

How to make the recipe:
- First of all wash the leaves 3 to 4 times drain them aside for atleast 15 mins.
- In a large bowl addleaves,onions,tamarind and water boil all these still the leaves are fully cooked.
- After the leaves are cooked, if there is more water left, discard it or evaporate it by cooking for longer you can even steam cook them we do for idly.
- Take only a tsp of oil the pan, add red chillis,curry leaves,urad dall, besan dall turmaric powder,garlic cloves, cumin seeds, mustard seeds once they splutteroff the heat mix chutny with all the fried and
- Serve with hot rice and aspoon of ghee.
